Yes - I sometimes think we get too immersed in Pages and Word and all their 'features'. I can't help smiling when I see people at work with just about every conceivable toolbar open in Word. They're left with about a 4 inch high strip to type into.
BTW how did you get text on top of text? I assume you're using Mac as you mention it on LJ (where I picked up this post from)
