Magazine and zine

I'm excited to share that issue 4 of Plog magazine has some of my work featured in it. I got myself a copy at the Pick me up fair and the quality of the whole magazine is really impressive.

And I've illustrated a story for Bad Roommate zine, all I can say is that it is about rice...

Drawings and Magazines

dinner
For the past two weeks now Ive been going life drawing again and I decided to try something different with my drawings and work them into my normal weirdness,  as usually the drawings I do get left and forgotten about in some sketchbook or another.

And my work is in Bizarre Magazine in the October issue and in The Subterranean Literary Journal 2.

Feature

See my designer bookmark on Dog Ear.

"If you ever thought you couldn’t read a magazine and a book at the same time then you are sorely mistaken.
DOGEAR is a new magazine that folds into a bookmark. After 30 submissions are collected from the website, a printed version will be produced as a 'best of'.
DOGEAR’s demographic is anybody that can read. Mostly it will be people who like to read books and book reading people tend to be open minded and a have a thirst for new ideas in the form of the printed word. This is where you come in..." Quote from the website itself.

This week I...

screenprinting
This photo is from my phone. I has screenprinting on wednesday
and I was painting directly onto the screen and then printing.

I decided to make another regular posting, to go alongside the thursday book day post. Its called This week I... Every friday or so I hope, Im going to sit down and examine the work Ive done that week or the lack of.

This week I...
- applied for work placements, with a few exciting childrens book publishers and at a couple book binderies.
- had an assessment for the projects Im working on. It went okay, I know what I need to develop and push further.
- had two nice pieces written about me on The Young Creatives [click here] and Blog And Buy Sale [click here]
- one of the publishers got back to me, and I have a 2 week placement soon, which is exciting.
- sent artwork off to be featured in Burst magazines [click here] love issue.

    100th post

    This is my 100th post!!

A story board done for illustration, on the short story "There's a Man in the Habit of Hitting Me on the Head with an Umbrella" by Fernando Sorrentina.
The story, as the title suggests is about a man who keeps hitting someone on the head with an umbrella. I'm not overly fond of drawing real people, or real things, so I found this a real challenge.

This is a different version of how I drew the storyboard. The book is made from a single a3 photocopy.

And even more exciting, Im in Anoraks winter magazine [coolest kids magazine ever] which is on the theme of books, it can be bought online here http://www.anorak-magazine.co.uk/index.php/issues
