This week and so

This week I have been all over the place and haven't had the chance to share anything.

Firstly on tuesday after work I found out I had been selected to be in the Artists’ Books on Tour show and given an honourable mention!

Ive been working on a new book this week, its inspired by the never ending frustration of post. This is a book about all the weird stuff I'd quite like to send in the post (whilst waiting for post.)

.. the first thing being me.

Yesterday I went to the D&D show and went to a Zine Workshop led by Alex Zamora of Feverzine.

Which was tonnes of fun!! and I made a little zine on my kitten in an edition of 15.



And I was also featured on Ballad Of. [check the site out it's filled with some really nice stuf!!]

Features and exhibits

I have done two drawings for illustration rally, one on the theme of food and the other about flowers.

From tomorrow I will have a book and some prints in this exhibition.

And lastly Ive been featured in Fuss magazine's Summer 2011 issue.

On Monday I woke up to some nice suprises. The first was a feature in Burst Magazine, seen here.

And the second on Creaturemag, my drawing of an octopus, he reads I <3 U. This one can also be seen here.

This photo is from my phone. I has screenprinting on wednesday
and I was painting directly onto the screen and then printing.

I decided to make another regular posting, to go alongside the thursday book day post. Its called This week I... Every friday or so I hope, Im going to sit down and examine the work Ive done that week or the lack of.

This week I...
- applied for work placements, with a few exciting childrens book publishers and at a couple book binderies.

- had an assessment for the projects Im working on. It went okay, I know what I need to develop and push further.
- had two nice pieces written about me on The Young Creatives [click here] and Blog And Buy Sale [click here]
- one of the publishers got back to me, and I have a 2 week placement soon, which is exciting.
- sent artwork off to be featured in Burst magazines [click here] love issue.

Camerabag and DWA

Ive been trying out Camerabag on my mac. Ive got it on my phone and I like what it does, so I thought Id try the mac version. Its a simple nifty little photo editor filled with nice filters. Its quick and easy to use, just open a photo, choose the filter, change the size/border and voila.
